Cordell, Be very, very careful walking over Rocky Sea Pass in September.. Back about 14 years ago, I was camped at Black Lake, by way of the Highline Trail from Mirror Lake The second morning, I awoke to six inches of new snow and more to come... I made it out, but chipping out the steps on the East side switchbacks of Rocky Sea Pass in a snow storm was pretty scary and VERY dangerous. That was a long walk out in that storm.. I'd suggest August via the Highline. Rock Creek is safer in September, but much longer a walk. Mike
